Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quintin Hess (ranked 25054 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Raps (ranked 4689 p4p, 0 weight class). Hank Raps has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quintin Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hank Raps!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Raps.

Hess drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hess throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hess throws an elbow but Raps slips to the side and avoids it well.
Raps really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hess. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Raps is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hess lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Raps down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hess cracks Raps with a big right hand but Raps just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hess misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hess creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Raps sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Raps throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

and Hess counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hess lands a nice short elbow.

Raps pushes Hess off and gets back to his feet.
Raps throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hess moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Raps lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Raps throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hess stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hess takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Raps lands a head shot.
Hank Raps is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Raps avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from Raps misses.
Raps ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Raps throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A nice combination there by Raps.

Hess closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Raps quickly recovers to half guard.
Hess drops an elbow to the side of Raps's head.
Raps is looking to escape.
Raps avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hess.
Hess sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Raps defending well though.
Hess throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Raps is trying to stand up here but Hess is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Raps has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hess is on him like a limpet, forcing Raps back against the cage.

Raps will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hess counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hess.

Hess stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Hess seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Raps misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hess avoids a punch combination nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - Raps scores with a four punch combination!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Raps misses with a straight left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Hank Raps will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Raps stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Raps wants it to stay on the feet.

As Raps tries to get set, Hess tries to push him back and clinch up but Raps manages to avoid the attempt.

Raps throws a right hand that Hess ducks under and follows up with a left that Hess also avoids with ease.

Hess looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Raps!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quintin Hess.
I think Raps has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
