Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vito Mazzini (ranked 2041 p4p, 254 weight class) and Angelo Mendez (ranked 758 p4p, 100 weight class). Mazzini kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fade To Black. Mendez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Angelito. Angelo Mendez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vito Mazzini's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazzini lands a nice looking body kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Mazzini. That snapped Mendez's head back.
Mendez scores with a punch to the head.
Mendez throws out a loose jab but Mazzini uses good head movement to avoid it.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mendez.
Mazzini moves out of range as Mendez strikes.
A little feinted left hand from Mazzini on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mazzini missing with a left hand there. Mendez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mendez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mazzini takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Mazzini counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mazzini is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mendez defends it well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mazzini in particular looking to stall.
Mendez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mazzini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mazzini is looking for a kimura but Mendez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mazzini to get the leverage.

Mendez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mazzini has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Mazzini throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mazzini takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mazzini shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendez sprawls well. He's pushed Mazzini's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mendez sends Mazzini crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mendez is motioning to the referee to let Mazzini up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Mendez weaves into range and cracks Mazzini right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Mazzini goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Mendez is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
