Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Break! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Anderson! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Break. Anderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Break, which made it look bad. Break shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anderson sprawls well. Anderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Break gets slowly back to his feet. Anderson pushes Break up against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson controlling the action here for a moment.
Anderson is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Break gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Break tries to stand but Anderson is controlling from the bottom. Break seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Anderson is pulling down on Break's head to control his posture. Anderson wants to control the position but Break says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson wants to get back to his feet. Anderson is trying to control but can't.
Anderson is looking for a sweep. Break is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Anderson is controlling Break's trapped leg to prevent Break from advancing to side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth. Break looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Anderson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Anderson is pressing down on Break's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Break being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Break is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Anderson moves into the clinch. Anderson wants to break free but Break has control.
Anderson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Break blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Break lands an elbow inside. Anderson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Break regains guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Break shoots for a takedown but Anderson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Break. That's going to take a lot out of him. Break tries to score a power double leg takedown but Anderson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Break somewhat. Anderson shapes to counter with a head kick. Anderson closes the distance and clinches up with Break, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes Break against the cage but Break circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Break as he jumps to the side. Anderson looks winded! Anderson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Break. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A nice inside leg kick there by Break. That's going to slow Anderson down. Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Break swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but James Anderson will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Break shoots in for a double leg but Anderson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Break moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromAnderson. Anderson has a takedown stuffed. Paul Break is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Anderson tries to clinch up but Break circles away and keeps his distance. A momentary lapse in concentration from Break enables Anderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Break manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Anderson works over Break with some ground and pound from guard. Break isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Anderson stacks Break on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Anderson! Break prevents Anderson from moving into mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson staying calm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson is putting a hurting on Break here, landing some big shots from side control. Break trying to remain calm as Anderson controls from the top position. Break struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Anderson decides to stand back up. Break takes the fight into the clinch. Anderson is trying to force a seperation but Break has the dominant position. Anderson tightens his grip and picks Break up, before dumping him to the ground. Break manages to land in guard. Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Break swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson trying to control but Break is working from the bottom. Break looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Break being controlled here, momentarily. Anderson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Anderson looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Break checks the leg kick nicely there.
Anderson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Anderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Anderson is breathing heavily. Anderson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Break sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Paul Break has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Anderson. Anderson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Break tries to counter with a takedown but Anderson is quick to defend against it. Break is looking to clinch but Anderson is avoiding it.
Anderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Break not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson wants to stand and escape but instead Break has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

James Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Break swats away the attempt to clinch by Anderson. Anderson moves to clinch but Break breaks away and Break counters with a series of strikes. Anderson will be more careful next time no doubt. Anderson clinches with his opponent.
Anderson is trying to pull guard but Break turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Anderson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Break breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson moves in looking to clinch but Break pushes him off. Break shoots in looking for a takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl out of it but Break keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anderson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson shoots in and bounces Break off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Anderson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Break trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Break wants to control the position but Anderson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Anderson moves nicely into side control. Break takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Anderson decides to stand back up. Anderson steps back and let's Break get back to his feet. Break lands a really nice looking cross but Anderson seems unphased.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Break. Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Break shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Paul Break has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Anderson. Anderson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Break throws a series of strikes that have Anderson backpedaling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Break but Break pushes him off and we're back to square one. Break tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Break sets himself, and Anderson steps forward looking for the clinch! Break avoids it this time. Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Break paws at him with a jab and circles away. Break tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anderson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Break was well out of range. Poor timing from Anderson. Paul Break is winning the standup battle so far. Break tries to clinch up and Anderson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Anderson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Break defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Break wants to control but Anderson passes into side.
Break is trying to escape the position but Anderson is controlling the position. Anderson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Break down.
Anderson stands up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson misses with a body kick. Anderson gets a clinch. Paul Break has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Break lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Anderson backwards.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to James Anderson. I've got Anderson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
