Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ken Gee (ranked 4649 p4p, 359 weight class) and Edson Bidon Barbosa (ranked 5333 p4p, 401 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Gee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edson Bidon Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gee misses with a body shot.
Barbosa lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Barbosa has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Barbosa throws a head kick but Gee moves out of range.
Barbosa avoids a punch combination nicely.

Ken Gee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Barbosa counters with a head kick that drops Gee!


Gee is rocked!
Barbosa wanted to stand there but Gee had control of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gee is adopting a defensive guard.

Gee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A head kick lands from Barbosa that sends Gee to the canvas. Gee tries to scramble back to his feet but Barbosa brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Ken Gee has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barbosa wants to stand but Gee is controlling his arm.

Gee has Barbosa up against the cage in a clinch.
Barbosa is looking to break free of the clinch but Gee has double underhooks.

Barbosa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gee has him pressed against the cage.
Barbosa wants to break free but Gee has control.

Gee tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Barbosa's elbow.

Gee's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Barbosa tries to circle away but Gee has him pinned against the cage.

Barbosa throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Gee stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Barbosa follows into mount!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gee wants to control but Barbosa is having none of it.
Barbosa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gee on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gee tries to get out of the position.
Gee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gee can't escape the position.
Gee tries to hold on but Barbosa pushes him away.
Barbosa controlling the position easily from mount.
Gee holds of for dear life.
Barbosa avoids the attempt from Gee to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edson Bidon Barbosa dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ken Gee's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gee scores with a one two! Barbosa had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Gee tries to close the distance and clinch but Barbosa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barbosa jabs Gee right on the nose. Gee blinks but takes it well.
Gee avoids a punch combination nicely.

Gee has closed the distance and engaged Barbosa in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gee is pushing Barbosa up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Barbosa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Barbosa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gee waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Barbosa.
Barbosa is looking for the big counter here.
Gee throws a jab when Barbosa was well out of range.
Barbosa misses with a head kick.
Gee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barbosa.
Gee misses with a few strikes there.
Gee fails to land with a series of punches.
Barbosa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Barbosa sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Gee to the ground! Barbosa dives into full mount looking to finish!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gee is trying to escape the mount.
Gee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Barbosa wants to stand but Gee is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Gee tries to reverse the position but Barbosa maintains control.
Gee tries to hold on but Barbosa postures up.
Barbosa is looking to stand but Gee has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gee sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Gee is positioning himself well to prevent Barbosa advancing to mount.

Barbosa is looking to stand up but Gee won't let him.
Barbosa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Barbosa is fighting to break Gee's control of his arms but Gee is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barbosa throws a sloppy head kick and Gee moves out of range easily.
Gee is looking to wear down Barbosa with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Barbosa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Ken Gee's cut is getting worse.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Barbosa cracks Gee with a hook to the temple - Gee is on wobbly legs here! Barbosa swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Gee falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Barbosa wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Edson Bidon Barbosa!
