Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carmen Diaz (ranked 6554 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beerly Legal Lager (ranked 24115 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carmen Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beerly Legal Lager!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lager shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lager fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Diaz as Lager shoots in.
Carmen Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beerly Legal Lager.
Lager looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Diaz leaves Lager with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diaz swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Beerly Legal Lager seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lager shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense.

Diaz is pressed up against the cage. Lager has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Diaz down to the mat. Diaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lager is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diaz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Diaz tries to counter by clinching up but Lager breaks away and moves out of range.

Lager closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lager is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Diaz has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lager stops a takedown attempt from Diaz.
Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Lager won't allow it.

Diaz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lager is defending well for now.

Lager is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lager feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lager is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lager makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lager.

Lager had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily.

Diaz stands up from Lager's guard - Diaz perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lager.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Diaz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Diaz closes the distance and clinches.
Diaz tries to circle away but Lager has him pinned against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Diaz's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Diaz lands a right hand.
Diaz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lager.
Diaz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Lager tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Lager manages to get underhooks.
Diaz throws a knee to the head but misses.

Lager prevents Diaz from breaking the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lager has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Diaz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Lager manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Let's hope that Lager has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Diaz is trying to stand.
Diaz is working to get back to half guard.
Lager tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lager cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lager controlling from the full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz is bucking up trying to escape but Lager cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diaz has given up his back. Will we see Lager going for some submissions?
Lager is trying to stick to Diaz's back but Diaz is turning into Lager. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lager's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Diaz.
Lager is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lager seems keen to control Diaz's posture.
Diaz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Diaz won't allow Lager to sweep him here.

Lager is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Diaz frees his head nicely. Oh but Lager has switched to an armbar! Diaz is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
