0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George St Peter! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaki throws a series of punches but St Peter avoids them all with ease. St Peter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kaki is trying to defend but St Peter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kaki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. St Peter is working away from the top position though. Kaki is looking to escape. Kaki is controlling St Peter's position as best he can from this difficult position. St Peter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kaki defending well though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. St Peter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kaki keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kaki wants to pass the guard but St Peter is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kaki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. St Peter is not content to let Kaki control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
St Peter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kaki is landing a low percentage of strikes. Kaki connects with a body shot that sends St Peter's belly button to the back. Kaki looks to land a combination. St Peter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. We've been told by Kaki's head coaches at Hardpunch (13 Elite / 1000$ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kaki gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows St Peter to score an easy takedown into full guard. St Peter trying to control but Kaki is working from the bottom. Kaki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in St Peter's guard. Kaki pushes down on St Peter's leg and manages to get into half guard. St Peter is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A punch lands to the side of St Peter 's head but he takes it in his stride. St Peter is still on wobbly legs! Can Kaki finish him? Kaki looks to land a combination but St Peter avoids it well. Kaki with a body punch. A glancing blow. A shot to the liver by Kaki. Beautiful body shot. St Peter throws a lazy right hand but Kaki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kaki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by St Peter. Kannissa Kaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kaki was covering up waiting for the punch and St Peter finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kaki has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes St Peter off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. St Peter takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

St Peter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. St Peter is thwarting Kaki's attempts to control the position. St Peter prevents Kaki from improving his position. and Kaki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. St Peter shoots for a takedown but Kaki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kannissa Kaki is winning the standup battle so far. St Peter darts in looking for a takedown but Kaki gets double underhooks and turns St Peter into the cage. Kaki throws a combination. St Peter tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kaki is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kaki, as that shot connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaki stands and throws St Peter's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kaki connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused St Peter some visible discomfort.
Kaki is looking to take a break and control but St Peter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St Peter tries to control but Kaki manages to take his back. George St Peter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kaki just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kaki's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
