Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Talon Cape! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Sanchez! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cape dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanchez. That did some damage! Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cape's waist but Cape gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side. Sanchez darts in looking for a takedown but Cape gets double underhooks and turns Sanchez into the ropes. Cape looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cape lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Cape misses the target. Sanchez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cape swivels and escapes. Talon Cape has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Sanchez. Cape misses the jab. Sanchez shoots in but no luck this time. Cape lands a jab. Sanchez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cape's half guard. Sanchez wants to control but Cape is keeping him busy. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Cape is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cape controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Cape trying to control here.

Cape on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cape tries to get out of the position. Sanchez is looking for a kimura but Cape is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sanchez to get the leverage. Cape moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sanchez is fighting to break Cape's control of his arms but Cape is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Cape keeping full guard, as Sanchez tries to pass. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Cape looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cape has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Cape tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Sanchez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sanchez stops Cape from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sanchez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cape is positioning himself well to prevent Sanchez advancing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Talon Cape will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Cape leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Cape, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Cape against the ropes but Cape circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sanchez is breathing heavily. Cape cracks the inside of Sanchez's front leg. Cape rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Cape stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

A very excited looking Talon Cape made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
