Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Wade (ranked 1673 p4p, 251 weight class) and Jean-Claude Marceau (ranked 2024 p4p, 298 weight class). Wade comes to the cage accompanied by 2Pac - Hail Mary. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marceau slips a jab and a cross from Wade.
Wade dives in and grabs Marceau's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marceau pushes down on Wade's head and hops out.

Marceau has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

A frustrated look appears on Wade's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Wade has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Marceau after a bit of a struggle.
Wade jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marceau walks away with a smile on his face. Wade gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Marceau forces Wade back against the cage and clinches.

Marceau tries to throw a body punch but Wade avoids it by throwing Marceau back against the cage.

Marceau lands a hook that snaps the head of Wade backwards.
Wade tries to pull guard but Marceau holds him up against the cage and eventually Wade drops back down to his feet.

Wade blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wade is looking for a takedown.
Marceau scores with a hook to the body.
Wade is breathing heavily.
Wade blocks an uppercut.
Wade goes for a takedown attempt but Marceau pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marceau scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marceau displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wade.

Marceau fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Marceau stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Marceau! Wade is out on his feet! Marceau rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Wade is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Wade is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean-Claude Marceau!
A relieved looking Jean-Claude Marceau thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
