The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Faustin 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pinnemuts scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Faustin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Faustin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Faustin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Faustin thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Pinnemuts is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Faustin gets his way!

Faustin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Faustin lands in his opponent's guard.
Faustin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pinnemuts swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Faustin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Faustin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pinnemuts sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Faustin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pinnemuts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pinnemuts parries the strikes from Faustin easily there. Faustin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pinnemuts to escape.

Faustin walks into a left hand.
Pinnemuts throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Faustin on the side of the head.

Kabouter Pinnemuts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kabouter Pinnemuts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Faustin misses with a takedown attempt - Pinnemuts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jab, jab by Pinnemuts - just one landing.

Faustin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pinnemuts to the mat! Pinnemuts manages to get full guard.

I've got Faustin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
