Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Manuel (ranked 150 p4p, 19 weight class) and Jiri Sayonara (ranked 305 p4p, 36 weight class). Sayonara has chosen Edge Of The Blade as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Manuel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jiri Sayonara! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sayonara looks to land a body kick but Manuel moved away. Sayonara throws a jab when Manuel was well out of range. Manuel is looking to counter punch. Manuel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Manuel throws a head kick but Sayonara moves out of range.
Sayonara is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Manuel with a body shot. Manuel throws a hook to the side of Sayonara's head but Sayonara sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Manuel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Manuel stuffs the takedown attempt from Sayonara. Sayonara gets slowly back to his feet. Manuel throws a push kick but Sayonara slaps the foot to one side. Manuel misses with a looping right. Sayonara lands a nice hook to Manuel's body. Manuel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Sayonara misses the shot to the body. Sayonara dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sayonara avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Manuel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sayonara.

Sayonara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Manuel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sayonara takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sayonara throws a body punch but Manuel moves out of range. Sayonara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Manuel has time to react. Sayonara finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Manuel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sayonara stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sayonara takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've been hearing reports that Manuel has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Peter Manuel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sayonara misses with a body shot.

Sayonara tries to score a power double leg takedown but Manuel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sayonara somewhat. Sayonara walks into a straight right hand from Manuel.

Sayonara stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A punch lands to the side of Manuel 's head but he takes it in his stride. Sayonara drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Manuel has his foot on Sayonara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sayonara works his way back into a safe position though. Manuel working a defensive guard but Sayonara manages to pass into side control anyway.

Sayonara throwing strikes but Manuel manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Sayonara is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Manuel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sayonara keeps working. Manuel is trying to get an arm triangle but Sayonara is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Sayonara's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Manuel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sayonara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Manuel creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sayonara sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Sayonara dodges the ground and pound from Manuel. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jiri Sayonara will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Manuel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sayonara keeping moving, preventing Manuel from controlling successfully. A close second round but Jiri Sayonara will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Sayonara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Manuel manages to get himself to full guard.
Manuel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sayonara working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Manuel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Manuel has an active guard here but Sayonara has managed to pass into half guard.

Sayonara seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Manuel blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sayonara. My spies in Just Scrap MMA and BJJ inform me that Sayonara has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Manuel wants to control but Sayonara postures up. Manuel manages to get back to half guard. Manuel looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Manuel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sayonara defends it easily. Sayonara content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Peter Manuel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight! Jiri Sayonara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sayonara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
