Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Flarence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Brining (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flarence has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Kevin Brining has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Flarence! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Brining! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brining tries for a takedown but Flarence sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Brining looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Flarence missing with a left hand there. Brining was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A head kick from Flarence lands but Brining takes it in his stride. Nice takedown defense from Flarence. No joy for Brining on that attempt. Flarence goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Brining takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Flarence lands a head kick. Brining smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Flarence misses with the combination.
Flarence throws a series of punches but Brining moves out of range. Brining misses with an uppercut. Flarence saw that one coming. Flarence blocks a head kick by Brining.
Nice body kick there by Flarence. Brining takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Brining fails with the takedown. Steven Flarence has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Brining. Flarence throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Brining changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flarence looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brining tries for a kimura but Flarence is defending well. Brining throwing shots but missing, from side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brining misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The strikes coming from Brining are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Brining looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Brining prevents Flarence from escaping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flarence striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Brining misses with the ground and pound. Brining fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Flarence is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brining is controlling him well. Brining tries to score with some ground and pound. Flarence controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Flarence wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Flarence tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brining shoots for a takedown but Flarence saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brining avoids the head kick by Flarence.
Flarence connects with a high kick. Steven Flarence is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Flarence throws an overhand right that lands on Brining's shoulder, as Brining tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Flarence explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Flarence throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brining shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flarence as he jumps to the side. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Brining has eaten all the pies! Brining shoots in looking for a takedown. Flarence tries to sprawl out of it but Brining keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flarence manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A nice leg kick lands there from Flarence. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brining. Flarence throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brining sees it coming and avoids it easily. Brining shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brining was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Flarence throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Flarence holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Brining tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Brining has control of Flarence's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Flarence regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brining throwing strikes here but Flarence is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flarence is working to get back to half guard.
Flarence throwing hammer fists to the chest of Brining. What's that going to do exactly? Flarence is in all sorts of trouble here.
Brining is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Flarence has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Brining throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Flarence is looking to get to half guard. Brining looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Flarence swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Brining looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Brining throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Flarence because Brining loaded up on that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brining is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Brining extends the arm and Flarence is forced to tap!
