Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Pacha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacha shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Silva throws a body shot but no joy.
Pacha shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva fails to land the takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Pacha to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Pacha slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Pacha stands up and beckons Silva to join him on the feet.

Pacha tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Silva manages to circle out of the way.
Silva avoids the head kick by Pacha.
Pacha fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Pacha drops down looking for a counter takedown but Silva sprawls and moves away.

and Silva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pacha thinking.

Thiago Pacha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pacha avoids it really well and circles away.
No luck for Pacha with that takedown attempt.

Pacha is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?

Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pacha after a bit of a struggle.

Pacha stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Pacha. Pacha gets slowly back to his feet.

Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pacha is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pacha passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Silva!

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pacha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pacha, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
