Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julian Wallace! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Francis DeMontford and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Wallace. Those never looked like landing. Mir Jr half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Mir Jr manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wallace on his heels. He'll look to pass Wallace's guard now, I'm sure. Wallace is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mir Jr dives into side control.
Wallace wants to get back to his feet. Wallace wants to get back to his feet but Mir Jr is dominant here and he's now got Wallace's back! Wallace is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Good control from Mir Jr. Wallace is trying to get back to his feet but Mir Jr has full control of the position and if anything, Wallace has just worked his way into a worse spot. Mir Jr controls the action.

Wallace gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mir Jr to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wallace is wriggling around but Mir Jr manages to pass to half guard.
Wallace looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir Jr decides to stand and escape the position. Wallace looks to clinch and Mir Jr counters with a series of strikes that sends Wallace to the canvas! Mir Jr follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
Wallace is rocked! Mir Jr gets to his feet. Wallace looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wallace is still on wobbly legs! Can Mir Jr finish him? Mir Jr fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wallace sprawls well initially but Mir Jr persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wallace tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Mir Jr manages to move to mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mir Jr is standing up, even though he is in mount. Wallace seems to have recovered his senses. Julian Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mir Jr lands a hook that stumbles Wallace back into the cage. Mir Jr follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Wallace to the canvas! Mir Jr pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Wallace has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
