Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leopoldo Sanchez (ranked 5840 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iman Rivera (ranked 8641 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Iman Rivera was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leopoldo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Iman Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanchez quickly recovers to half guard.
Rivera looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sanchez has his hands clasped together around Rivera's back. He's all about the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is looking to improve his position.
Sanchez is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez is trying to get back to full guard.
Sanchez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rivera is working away from the top position though.
Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.

Sanchez wants to control but Rivera is keeping busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Rivera closes the distance and clinches.

Rivera has Sanchez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rivera pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sanchez tumbling to the mat - Rivera dives into Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez has his foot on Rivera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rivera works his way back into a safe position though.

Sanchez pulls Rivera in close to prevent any damage.
Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rivera looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Rivera is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sanchez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rivera is looking to defend but Sanchez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rivera! Sanchez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rivera taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Leopoldo Sanchez!
