PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Bailey (ranked 2952 p4p, 398 weight class) and Jimi Toa (ranked 3428 p4p, 440 weight class). Toa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get in the Ring, by Guns 'n' Roses kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimi Toa!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bailey fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Toa to the ground. Bailey is now in Toa's guard.

Bailey drops back, looking for a kneebar! Toa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Toa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Toa!

Toa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bailey moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Toa. No joy for Bailey on that attempt.
Despite the aggression on Toa's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Bailey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Toa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bailey scrambles back to his feet.

Luke Bailey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bailey.
Toa is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bailey with a body shot.

As Bailey backs off Toa throws a huge counter combo but Bailey manages to avoid it all.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bailey connects with a nice short shot to Toa's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I've got Toa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
