Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bradford Volkanovski (ranked 3840 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Farooqi (ranked 3847 p4p, 312 weight class). The key to victory for Bradford Volkanovski has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bradford Volkanovski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Abdul Farooqi! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkanovski moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Volkanovski lands the left hand. Volkanovski tries to land a body kick and Farooqi counters with a shoot takedown. Volkanovski fights it but they end up in guard. Farooqi wants to pass the guard but Volkanovski is keeping the position. Volkanovski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Farooqi throws a big elbow that misses. Farooqi throwing strikes but missing. Farooqi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Farooqi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Volkanovski wants to stand up but Farooqi is controlling him. Volkanovski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Farooqi stands up over Volkanovski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Farooqi is looking to work some ground and pound but Volkanovski has wrist control. Volkanovski trying to keep a closed guard but Farooqi is proving a slippery customer.
Volkanovski is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Farooqi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Volkanovski is looking to clinch but Farooqi is avoiding it.
Farooqi looking to score a takedown here. Volkanovski is defending well but Farooqi drives through and ends up in Volkanovski's guard. Farooqi wants to pass the guard but Volkanovski is keeping the position. Farooqi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Farooqi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Farooqi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Volkanovski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Farooqi has Volkanovski in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Farooqi has control of Volkanovski's left arm, preventing Volkanovski from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Volkanovski throwing strikes from guard but Farooqi blocks nicely. Farooqi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Volkanovski is one step ahead there. Farooqi keeps trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Volkanovski tries to stand but Farooqi is controlling from the bottom. Farooqi is looking to sweep but instead, Volkanovski has passed into half guard.
Farooqi is controlling Volkanovski's position as best he can from this difficult position. Farooqi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Volkanovski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Abdul Farooqi will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Volkanovski has his takedown stuffed and Farooqi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Farooqi. Volkanovski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Farooqi pulls guard successfully.
Farooqi looking for a sweep. Not yet Farooqi, not yet. Farooqi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Volkanovski wants to control from the top but Farooqi keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farooqi is looking for a triangle but Volkanovski pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Farooqi keeping moving, preventing Volkanovski from controlling successfully. Farooqi controlling the position. Farooqi has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Volkanovski is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Farooqi turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Farooqi happy to just control the position for now. Volkanovski tries to bench press Farooqi off him but Farooqi keeps the position. Farooqi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Farooqi tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Volkanovski trying to remain calm as Farooqi controls from the top position. Volkanovski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Farooqi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Volkanovski trying to control here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Farooqi in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Farooqi drives through and clinches with Volkanovski against the cage.

Farooqi turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Farooqi controlling from side mount. Volkanovski struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Farooqi tries to move to full mount but Volkanovski actually manages to regain half guard. Farooqi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Farooqi lands a nice short elbow. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Farooqi stands up out of the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abdul Farooqi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Farooqi moves into the clinch. Volkanovski tries to throw a body punch but Farooqi avoids it by throwing Volkanovski back against the cage. Farooqi with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Volkanovski is working for takedown but Farooqi is calmly controlling the position for now. Farooqi has hold of one of Volkanovski's legs. Volkanovski is fighting the takedown attempt but Farooqi gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Farooqi throws an elbow that misses. Volkanovski uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Farooqi's guard. Nice move by Volkanovski! Farooqi pulls Volkanovski in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkanovski wants to control from the top but Farooqi keeps moving. Farooqi wants to sweep here but Volkanovski controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Let's hope that Farooqi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Volkanovski with a lazy takedown attempt and Farooqi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Farooqi lands with a right to the head. Farooqi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Farooqi holds on and takes a little breather. Volkanovski trying to control the position from guard on top but Farooqi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkanovski with a flurry of punches that miss. Volkanovski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Farooqi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Volkanovski stops Farooqi from standing up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Volkanovski throws a right and a left that both miss. Farooqi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Volkanovski! Volkanovski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Farooqi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Farooqi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Farooqi slips a nice elbow through Volkanovski's hands, connecting with Volkanovski's forehead. Bradford Volkanovski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Abdul Farooqi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Volkanovski is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Abdul Farooqi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Farooqi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
