Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eruera Wharerau (ranked 5861 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Francois Demonceaux (ranked 5860 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eruera Wharerau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jean Francois Demonceaux! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Demonceaux fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Demonceaux is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wharerau sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Wharerau tries to counter with a takedown but Demonceaux is quick to defend against it. Demonceaux takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wharerau changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Demonceaux tries to avoid it but Wharerau manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Demonceaux to the ground. Demonceaux escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Demonceaux closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Wharerau tries to pull guard but Demonceaux forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Demonceaux pulls guard effortlessly. Demonceaux working for submissions but it's allowed Wharerau to get to half guard.
Wharerau looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Demonceaux is trying to stand up here but Wharerau is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wharerau prevents Demonceaux from improving his position. Wharerau trying to control the action but Demonceaux is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Demonceaux trying to control here.
Demonceaux is looking to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Demonceaux can do anything to dispel that myth. Demonceaux blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wharerau. Wharerau is looking for a kimura but Demonceaux is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wharerau to get the leverage. Wharerau not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wharerau sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Demonceaux defending well though. Wharerau wants to control but Demonceaux is keeping him busy. Wharerau is thwarting Demonceaux's attempts to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wharerau throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Demonceaux throws a head kick that Wharerau semi-blocks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wharerau fails with a takedown attempt. Demonceaux is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eruera Wharerau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Demonceaux shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wharerau but Wharerau pushes him off and we're back to square one. Demonceaux takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wharerau looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wharerau is looking to clinch but Demonceaux is avoiding it.
Wharerau shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demonceaux as he avoids it easily. Demonceaux wants to counter with a clinch but Wharerau pushes him away. Wharerau tries to close the distance and clinch but Demonceaux swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wharerau fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Demonceaux avoids it really well and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Demonceaux throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wharerau. Wharerau lands a nice hook to Demonceaux's body. Demonceaux takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Wharerau shoots for a takedown but Demonceaux saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wharerau darts in looking for a takedown but Demonceaux gets double underhooks and turns Wharerau into the cage. Demonceaux lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Demonceaux misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wharerau lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wharerau tries to clinch there but Demonceaux circles away.
Demonceaux with the counter takedown but Wharerau avoids it easily. Wharerau throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eruera Wharerau will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A cross from Wharerau lands. Wharerau shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Demonceaux counters with a left and a right that stings Wharerau. Demonceaux swats away the attempt to clinch by Wharerau. Demonceaux shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Demonceaux closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wharerau circles away. Wharerau wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Demonceaux throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wharerau's waist but Wharerau gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Demonceaux off to one side. It looked like Wharerau was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Eruera Wharerau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Francois Demonceaux. Wharerau shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demonceaux as he avoids it easily. Wharerau sets himself, and Demonceaux steps forward looking for the clinch! Wharerau avoids it this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wharerau throws a sloppy head kick and Demonceaux counters with an outside leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wharerau doesn't succeed with the takedown and Demonceaux counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Demonceaux. Wharerau is trying to break free. Demonceaux has Wharerau pressed against the cage, preventing Wharerau from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Demonceaux has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wharerau avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Demonceaux is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wharerau to keep the fight standing. Wharerau stalling in the clinch but Demonceaux improves position. Wharerau pulls guard. Wharerau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Demonceaux stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wharerau swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Demonceaux controlling from the top position. Demonceaux postures up.
Wharerau has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Demonceaux should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Wharerau has tightened it up now! Demonceaux should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
