Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Sun God Ra (ranked 4045 p4p, 397 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 2116 p4p, 228 weight class). Bear comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Good Times kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, The Sun God Ra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ra fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bear looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ra throws a looping overhand right but Bear ducks down to avoid it.
Ra clobbers Bear with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Jer Bear has been cut.
Bear defending well as Ra loads up on a big left hand.

Ra forces Bear back against the cage and clinches.
Ra pushes off an throws an elbow but Bear leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Ra putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Bear in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Bear is trying to break free.

Bear escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ra throws a body punch but Bear moves out of range.

Bear looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ra is fending him off so far but Bear persists. Nope, Ra circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ra darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Bear has closed the distance and engaged Ra in a clinch.
Bear misses with a punch to the body.
Bear on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Bear escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ra throws a hook to the side of Bear's head but Bear sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bear tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ra swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bear keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ra misses the jab.
Bear ducks under a wild hook from Ra.

Ra throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bear blocks it with crossed arms.

Bear breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bear moves in looking to clinch but Ra pushes him off.
Bear's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bear duly obliges.


It looks like The Sun God Ra has been cut.
We've been informed that Bear has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ra takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Bear is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ra's half guard.

Bear throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ra works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ra lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bear has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bear has momentary wrist control but Ra slips an elbow through the middle.
Ra postures up.
Bear pulls Ra in close to his closed guard and prevents Ra from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ra is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Bear is looking to sweep but instead, Ra has passed into half guard.
Bear is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bear manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Bear avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bear wants to sweep here but Ra controlling him for the moment.
Bear is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bear is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Sun God Ra dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Bear doesn't manage to clinch there - Ra circles away.
The Sun God Ra is winning the standup battle so far.
Bear closes the distance and clinches up with Ra, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes Ra against the cage but Ra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bear lands with a kick to the temple. Ra shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Bear keeps the fight on the outside.
Ra wants to clinch.
Ra shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jer Bear is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bear fails to land with a series of punches.
Bear is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Bear bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ra circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bear fails with the takedown.
Bear throws a series of strikes that have Ra backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ra closes the distance and clinches.

Ra goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bear wants to break free but Ra has control.
Still in the clinch, Ra scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ra scores a nice knee to the body.
Bear wants to get back to striking at distance but Ra won't allow it.
Ra prevents a body shot from Bear.
Bear can't get the takedown.
The Sun God Ra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jer Bear.

Bear throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bear moves into the clinch.
Ra doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ra lands an elbow that stopped Bear in his tracks for a moment.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ra.


Jer Bear's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jer Bear's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). The Sun God Ra!
In his post fight interview, The Sun God Ra started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
