Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Salvador Pierce (ranked 25245 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruston Cohle (ranked 5829 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Salvador Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruston Cohle!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cohle moves into the clinch.

Cohle lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cohle keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierce is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cohle pulls his head out easily.
Cohle tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pierce knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cohle in particular looking to stall.
Cohle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierce is looking to improve his position.
Cohle stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cohle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Pierce missing with punches from the bottom.
Cohle working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cohle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Cohle decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from Cohle.
Cohle throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Pierce fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cohle clinches up against the cage.
Pierce has had enough of the clinch but Cohle keeps him there for the moment.
Cohle is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Cohle jumps guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pierce throws a strike but Cohle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Cohle controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cohle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pierce's guard.
Pierce might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cohle moves nicely into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cohle landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Cohle tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Cohle decides to stand back up. Cohle steps back and let's Pierce get back to his feet.

Cohle rushes Pierce and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cohle pulls Pierce into guard.
Pierce knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cohle on the ground.
Cohle bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pierce's guard.

Cohle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ruston Cohle dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Cohle has managed to clinch.

Cohle turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cohle connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pierce some visible discomfort.
Pierce could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cohle avoids the strikes from the bottom by Pierce.
You can see the frustration on Pierce's face as Cohle controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cohle scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pierce to see if he's OK.
Cohle grinds an elbow into Pierce's temple.
Cohle is staying tight to Pierce's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cohle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cohle has an Americana. Pierce didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cohle is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cohle hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ruston Cohle!
