Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Yakovlev (ranked 2567 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby TupperIII (ranked 9122 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakovlev comes into the arena with Maroon 5 - Sugar blaring out of the sound system. Bobby TupperIII will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

39 - 47 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby TupperIII! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! TupperIII closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - TupperIII lands in his opponent's guard. Yakovlev manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. TupperIII manages to get himself to full guard.
Yakovlev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Yakovlev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
TupperIII being controlled here, momentarily. Yakovlev stands and throws TupperIII's legs to the side, diving into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Yakovlev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yakovlev content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round. TupperIII tries to buck Yakovlev off but Yakovlev is having none of it. TupperIII being controlled for a moment. Yakovlev definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Yakovlev moves into full mount! TupperIII tries to get back to half guard but can't. Yakovlev working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. TupperIII looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Yakovlev! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Alexander Yakovlev! Alexander Yakovlev was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
