The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots and misses
and Ramirez counters with a left to the body.
Ramirez closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Paul Johnson has been cut.
Johnson shoots in but Ramirez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Ramirez misses the target.
Ramirez lands with an uppercut that bounces Johnson off the cage and back into range.

Paul Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramirez stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Ramirez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hector Ramirez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramirez as he jumps to the side.
Ramirez darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.

Ramirez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ramirez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.
Johnson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Johnson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ramirez pulls his leg out and moves away.
Johnson moves forwards but Ramirez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Johnson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ramirez throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
That has opened up Paul Johnson's cut even more.
Johnson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Johnson walks into a jab.

Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramirez circles away.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ramirez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Johnson throws a hook to the side of Ramirez's head but Ramirez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ramirez throws out a powerful jab.
Horrible takedown attempt by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez, which made it look bad.
Johnson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ramirez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Johnson scrambles back to his feet.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ramirez!

and Ramirez counters with a nice uppercut.
Johnson is rocked!
Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ramirez scores with a counter punch that sends Johnson to the canvas! Ramirez smells blood - he's punishing Johnson with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Johnson has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
