Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Lee (ranked 5587 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bessandro Kennelly (ranked 6049 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Guess who’s back - Rakim. Kennelly has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Bessandro Kennelly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bessandro Kennelly! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennelly with a lazy takedown attempt and Lee counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kennelly looks winded! Lee shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kennelly is trying to defend but Lee finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lee is controlling the pace.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kennelly trying to hold on to Lee's head to control him but Lee postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is controlling the pace.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kennelly for as long as he can get away with.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kennelly sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lee looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lee is working Kennelly over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Lee's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lee scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee controlling from the top position. Lee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Lee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. This is a sustained period of stalling by Lee. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kennelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kennelly avoids the head kick by Lee.
Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee moves into range and clinches up with Kennelly. Kennelly blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Lee has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kennelly is trying to keep an underhook but Lee manages to get the takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lee lands a nice short elbow. Lee is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lee continues to stall. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! More hug and hope from Lee. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kennelly. Kennelly throws a sloppy head kick and Lee counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee is pushing down on Kennelly's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kennelly is fighting to maintain full guard but Lee has managed to sneak the leg through. Still in half guard, Lee seems content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Lee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kennelly can do to turn this around? Kennelly is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kennelly. Lee has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kennelly wants to hold on but Lee pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Lee. Lee putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Lee controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kevin Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lee landing strikes from the mount. Lee fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Lee has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kennelly's face.

Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kennelly gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lee to score an easy takedown into full guard. Lee landing some decent shots from guard. Lee is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lee controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kennelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Lee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lee postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lee cracks Kennelly with a solid left hand. Kennelly being controlled here, momentarily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kennelly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lee striking off his back but it's not causing Kennelly any problems. Lee keeping moving, preventing Kennelly from controlling successfully. Kennelly must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kennelly stops Lee from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is pulling down on Kennelly's head. It's preventing any offense from Kennelly, at least for the moment. Lee manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kennelly manages to get himself to full guard.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kennelly can't keep his opponent in guard - Lee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lee is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Lee sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Lee showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
