The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Whitfield scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Whitfield tests Spong's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Whitfield avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Whitfield feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Spong sprawling to the canvas! Spong rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Whitfield finish him?!
Oh Spong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Whitfield drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Spong defends it well.
BOOM! Whitfield lands a beautiful left hook that drops Spong. Spong tries to recover but Whitfield is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Spong lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

An out of breath Kevin Whitfield thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Tyrone Spong was interviewed post fight and said 'This loss will only make me train harder and come back stronger. I promise I'll be back better then ever!'.
