Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between James Jang (ranked 2164 p4p, 232 weight class) and Karl Gotch (ranked 7634 p4p, 602 weight class). Jang comes into the arena with Turn It On blaring out of the sound system. Gotch has chosen Erika as his entrance music. The key to victory for James Jang has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Jang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Gotch! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jang darts in and clinches Gotch up against the ropes. Gotch misses with a punch to the body.
Gotch wants to stall.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jang. Jang prevents Gotch from breaking the clinch. Jang lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Karl Gotch has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jang lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Gotch tries to break free but Jang pushes him back against the ropes. Jang working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jang misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gotch.
Jang is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gotch is defending well for now. Gotch dodges an elbow strike from Jang.

Gotch's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Gotch wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gotch wants to break free but Jang has control.
Gotch is trying to force a seperation but Jang has the dominant position. Jang working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Gotch has had enough of the clinch but Jang keeps him there for the moment.

Jang pushes Gotch back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Gotch breaks the clinch.
Jang rushes Gotch and presses him up against the ropes. Gotch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gotch has had enough of the clinch but Jang keeps him there for the moment. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jang. Jang keeps control of Gotch as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A knee to the head by Jang.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gotch working hard to break the clinch. Gotch looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Jang throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Jang tries a body shot but Gotch blocks it.
Gotch on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Gotch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jang drives through and clinches with Gotch against the ropes.
Jang makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Jang throws an elbow but it's blocked.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Jang lands with a short shot to the head. Jang misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gotch.
Gotch tries to circle away but Jang has him pinned against the ropes. Jang trying to land knees to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Jang. Gotch is looking to break free of the clinch but Jang has double underhooks. Gotch looking to slow down the pace here. Gotch is trying to break free.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Jang prevents a body shot from Gotch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Gotch can't break the clinch.
Gotch looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Jang throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Jang has Gotch pressed against the ropes, preventing Gotch from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jang using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gotch has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Gotch has had enough of the clinch but Jang keeps him there for the moment. Gotch is looking to break free of the clinch but Jang has double underhooks. Jang lands an elbow just above Gotch 's eye. Jang throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gotch blocks it with crossed arms.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gotch is trying to push Jang away but Jang has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. A right handed body shot lands from Jang.
Gotch taking a breather. Gotch tries to break free but Jang pushes him back against the ropes. Jang throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Jang keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gotch's efforts to push away. Jang tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jang lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gotch.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Gotch is trying to force a seperation but Jang has the dominant position. Jang gets through Gotch's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Jang lands with a light punch inside. Gotch is looking to break free of the clinch but Jang has double underhooks. Jang creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Gotch looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gotch has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jang tries to land a knee to the head but Gotch blocks with his arms.
Karl Gotch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Jang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gotch misses with a knee strike.
And that's the end of the fight! James Jang showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jang has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
