0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitsugu Takeishi! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franco Ll gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Frederick Allen Franco Ll has been cut. Franco Ll could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Takeishi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Takeishi's corner calls for a 1-2. Takeishi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Franco Ll takes a body punch but keeps moving. Franco Ll is breathing heavily. Takeishi lands a big uppercut and Franco Ll crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Franco Ll looks OK. Takeishi waves Franco Ll back to his feet!
Frederick Allen Franco Ll's cut is getting worse. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takeishi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nice body punch from Takeishi. Takeishi has Franco Ll up against the cage in a clinch.
Takeishi will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Franco Ll up against the cage. Takeishi lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Franco Ll. Takeishi lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Frederick Allen Franco Ll's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeishi lands a body punch. Takeishi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Takeishi is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. A body shot lands from Takeishi.
Takeishi pushes Franco Ll back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jeez, Frederick Allen Franco Ll's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Takeishi lands a shot to the body. Takeishi scores with a hook to the body. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Takeishi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frederick Allen Franco Ll's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mitsugu Takeishi! Mitsugu Takeishi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
