With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Venom counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Jan Kriel has been cut.
Venom looks to score with a jab to the body but Kriel is just out of range.
Kriel misses with a looping right.
Venom staying out of range there.
A cross from Kriel lands.
Kriel misses with a low kick.
Kriel with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Venom to score with a decent uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Venom blocks a jab.
Venom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kriel swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kriel tried to score with a low kick but Venom checks it.
Kriel blocks a head kick by Venom.
Kriel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Venom connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kriel scrambles back to his feet.

Kriel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Venom throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kriel.

Kriel moves into range and connects with a jab.
Venom jabs Kriel to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Venom takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Kriel counters with a nice uppercut.
A combination from Kriel does no damage.
It looked like Venom was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Kriel looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and Kriel counters with a slapping leg kick.
Venom slips under a jab from Kriel.
Venom was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Kriel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Venom's hands.

Oooooh!!! Venom has knocked Kriel down with a huge combo! Venom steps away and waves a wobbly Kriel back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Kriel throws a shot from downtown. Venom moves away and avoids it.
Venom looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Kriel is still on wobbly legs! Can Venom finish him?
Kriel throws a lazy uppercut
and Venom scores with a counter punch that sends Kriel to the canvas! Venom smells blood - he's punishing Kriel with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Kriel has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Stasius Venom decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
