PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arn Anderson (ranked 625 p4p, 26 weight class) and Mongolian Muslim (ranked 847 p4p, 32 weight class). Anderson comes into the arena with Thunderstruck-by ACDC blaring out of the sound system. Muslim has chosen Modern Mongolian Music - Sandy Desert as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mongolian Muslim will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mongolian Muslim!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muslim lands a body shot.

We've been hearing good reports from Anderson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Anderson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Muslim has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Anderson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Anderson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Muslim tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Anderson is in Muslim's guard.

Muslim has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Anderson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Muslim but Muslim pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anderson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Muslim finds it's way round the side to connect with Anderson's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Muslim, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Anderson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Muslim has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Mongolian Muslim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Muslim looks to land a left hand but Anderson moved out of range nicely.
Muslim gets in close and tags Anderson with a short punch that almost sends Anderson to the mat! Oh Anderson is in big trouble! He turns his back on Muslim, trying to create some distance but Muslim rushes him, striking wildly and Anderson goes down! The referee tackles Muslim into the cage to end the fight! Muslim is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mongolian Muslim!
Mongolian Muslim is the new super heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Mongolian Muslim thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Arn Anderson stepped up to the mic, saying 'I didn't snap into a slim jim.....and it was my downfall.....I'LL BE BACK FOR THAT BELT!!'.
