Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koichi Kamei (ranked 4720 p4p, 503 weight class) and Aie Thai (ranked 23220 p4p, 711 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kamei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aie Thai!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai wants to clinch up but Kamei keeps it at a distance.

Thai slips a straight right by Kamei.
Thai's coach down at Sydney Combat Method was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Thai's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kamei scores with a hook to the body. Thai takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Thai doesn't manage to clinch there - Kamei circles away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Thai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kamei has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kamei and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
An attempted straight right counter from Kamei misses the target.
Thai throws a jab but it's blocked by Kamei.
Thai throws a sloppy head kick and Kamei moves out of range easily.
Kamei scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Thai has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Aie Thai has been cut.
Kamei connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Thai keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thai tries to close the distance and clinch but Kamei swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kamei appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kamei throws a right and a left that Thai avoids nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kamei scores with a nice head shot.
A slow jab from Kamei misses its intended target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Thai scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kamei doesn't seem bothered though.
Kamei misses the jab.
Kamei throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thai on the side of the head.
Aie Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thai tries to clinch but Kamei is having none of it.
Thai swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kamei avoids the head kick by Thai.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kamei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thai moves away.
Thai slips a jab from Kamei.

Thai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kamei keeps the fight on the outside.
Kamei is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thai.
Thai throws a wild body kick that Kamei sees coming a mile off.
Thai connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Thai tries to clinch but Kamei moves away
and Kamei counters with a nice body shot.
Thai throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kamei throws a series of punches but Thai avoids them all with ease.
Kamei swats away the attempt to clinch by Thai.
Kamei fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Thai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kamei.
Thai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thai closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kamei cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kamei throws a hook but Thai avoids it easily.
Thai shapes to counter with a head kick.
Kamei misses with a straight left.
Kamei fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thai looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kamei misses with a hook.
Thai attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kamei just misses with a punch to the body.
Thai tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kamei counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kamei lands with a cross.
Thai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kamei keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kamei checks a leg kick.
Kamei lands a really nice looking cross but Thai seems unphased.
Thai misses with a head kick.
Thai uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kamei.
Kamei jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.


Thai is rocked!
BOOM! Kamei lands a beautiful left hook that drops Thai. Thai tries to recover but Kamei is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Thai lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Koichi Kamei!
