Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tyson (ranked 5869 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Varela (ranked 5951 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dexter Varela ! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Varela with a poor takedown and Tyson counters by moving into the clinch. Tyson is stalling here.
Tyson scores with an uppercut up the middle. Varela tries to work over Tyson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Varela misses with an elbow strike.
Varela looking to slow down the pace here. Tyson pulls guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Varela is looking for a sweep. Tyson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Still in half guard, Tyson seems content to control.

Varela keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tyson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Varela 's head. Tyson stalling. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tyson is pressing down on Varela 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Varela is holding on for now. Well, if Tyson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tyson works Varela 's body with a nice hook.

Tyson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Varela defends well and Tyson ends up having to push Varela into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tyson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Varela throws a counter combo. Varela shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tyson as he jumps to the side. Varela fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tyson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Mike Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dexter Varela . Varela looks for a takedown but Tyson sprawls well. Varela tries to clinch but Tyson is having none of it. Varela is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tyson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Varela doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tyson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Tyson darts in and clinches Varela up against the cage. Varela has had enough of the clinch but Tyson keeps him there for the moment. Tyson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Tyson has his feet on Varela 's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Varela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tyson tries to avoid it but Varela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tyson to the ground. Tyson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Varela looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good work by Varela as he checks the leg kick. Varela tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tyson defends well and Varela ends up having to push Tyson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tyson gets in close and instigates a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tyson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Varela is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson shoots in looking for a takedown but Varela manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tyson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tyson throws a leg kick but Varela sees it coming and moves out of range. Varela tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Varela fails with an attempt to clinch.
Varela stuffs the takedown. And Varela tries to counter it with a takedown but Tyson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Varela misses with a takedown attempt and Tyson moves into the clinch. Varela is trying to break the clinch but Tyson is controlling him. Tyson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Varela gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Tyson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyson pulls Varela into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Tyson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Varela is stalling in the full guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Tyson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Varela on the ground. Varela wanted to stand there but Tyson had control of the position.

Tyson closes the distance and clinches up with Varela , looking for a takedown. Tyson pushes Varela against the cage but Varela circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Varela tries to clinch there but Tyson circles away.
Varela uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tyson has time to react. A momentary lapse in concentration from Varela enables Tyson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Varela manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Tyson trying to control but Varela is working from the bottom. Tyson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Varela wants to stand but Tyson is controlling the position. Varela trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Varela looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tyson is looking to work some ground and pound but Varela has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tyson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tyson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Varela can do to turn this around? Varela not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Varela has a takedown stuffed. Tyson moves into the clinch. Tyson lands with a light punch inside. Tyson goes for a takedown attempt but Varela pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tyson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tyson wants it to stay on the feet. Varela tries for a takedown but Tyson circles away easily and Tyson counters by clinching up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tyson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Varela 's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Varela looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tyson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tyson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Varela has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tyson is looking to defend but Varela has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tyson! Varela pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tyson taps out and this one is all over!
