Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ori Jokinen (ranked 2070 p4p, 102 weight class) and Phil Harrass (ranked 2038 p4p, 100 weight class). Harrass has chosen Tomorrow as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 20 - 1, fighting out of London, Ori Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Harrass!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrass tries a low kick but Jokinen avoids it.
An attempted straight right counter from Jokinen misses the target.
Harrass displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Harrass tries to work over Jokinen's front leg with a kick but Jokinen checks it.
Harrass stuffs the takedown attempt from Jokinen. Jokinen gets slowly back to his feet.
Jokinen blocks a jab.

Harrass fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jokinen sprawls well initially but Harrass persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Harrass is keen to just control but Jokinen is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harrass is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jokinen sees it coming and defends easily.
Harrass wants to control but Jokinen is keeping him busy.
Harrass is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harrass thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jokinen defending well as Harrass loads up on a big left hand.
Jokinen throws a counter high kick but Harrass was just alert enough to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jokinen enables Harrass to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jokinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Harrass connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Harrass postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jokinen looks a forlorn figure.
Harrass has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jokinen's face.
Jokinen tries to lock up and control but Harrass gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jokinen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Harrass pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Oh Jokinen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Harrass lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Harrass is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

It appears Jokinen was looking to counter with a kick there.

Harrass is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Harrass has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Phil Harrass decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
