Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Abudabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Duvel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Duvel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Duvel!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abudabi drops Duvel with a beautiful combination! Duvel stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Abudabi is looking for the KO!

Duvel is rocked!

It looks like Jim Duvel has been cut.
Duvel looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abudabi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Duvel is still on wobbly legs! Can Abudabi finish him?
Abudabi scores with a push kick.
Duvel seems to have recovered his senses.
Abudabi throws a hook to the side of Duvel's head but Duvel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Duvel turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Duvel manages to end up in side control.

Duvel stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Abudabi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duvel is fending him off so far but Abudabi persists. Nope, Duvel circles away and we're back to standing.
Duvel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Duvel takes a kick to the side of the head.
Abudabi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Duvel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Abudabi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Duvel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abudabi controls Duvel momentarily but Duvel frees himself.

Abudabi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duvel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duvel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Abudabi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Duvel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Abudabi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Duvel's back instead.
Duvel wants to get back to his feet.

Abudabi is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Duvel defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abudabi has his foot on Duvel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duvel works his way back into a safe position though.

Duvel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Abudabi's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Abudabi is trying to stand up here but Duvel is controlling him well.

Duvel seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Duvel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abudabi won't be happy with that.

Duvel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abudabi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Abudabi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Duvel wants to control the position but Abudabi frees himself and scrambles - Duvel manages to regain control in side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Abudabi is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Duvel pulls his head out easily.

Duvel wants to advance to full mount but Abudabi doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

and Duvel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Abudabi's guard.
Duvel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Abudabi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duvel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Abudabi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Duvel wants to stand but Abudabi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Abudabi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duvel is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Duvel in particular looking to stall.

Duvel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Abudabi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Abudabi is trying to stick to Duvel's back but Duvel is turning into Abudabi. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Abudabi's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Duvel.

Duvel is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Abudabi still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Abudabi has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
