Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Baird (ranked 8733 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tykivas Hullaby (ranked 8073 p4p, 0 weight class). Tykivas Hullaby acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kent Baird! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tykivas Hullaby! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hullaby shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Baird as he jumps to the side. Hullaby shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Baird manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Baird looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Baird pulls Hullaby in to control the position. Baird has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. This is a sustained period of stalling by Baird. Baird could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hullaby misses with a takedown attempt and Baird counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baird. Hullaby throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Hullaby tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Baird just stands there and leans against the cage. Kent Baird has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tykivas Hullaby. Baird stops a takedown attempt from Hullaby.
Baird breaks the clinch.
Baird dives in for a single leg takedown but Hullaby sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baird shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hullaby is trying to defend but Baird finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ground and pound from Baird. It looks like Baird is going to stand back up.
Baird is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hullaby has managed to free his arm - good work. Baird is trying to work for a kimura but Hullaby is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hullaby is trying to get back to full guard. Hullaby missing with punches from the bottom.
Hullaby really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baird. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hullaby tries to roll over but Baird keeps him under control. Baird content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Baird stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Hullaby thows a leg kick but Baird checks it and Baird counters by clinching up. Baird has clasped his hands together around Hullaby's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Baird creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hullaby taking punishment in the form of punches.
Baird decides to stand back up. Baird steps back and let's Hullaby get back to his feet. Hullaby shoots in for a takedown but Baird shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Baird tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hullaby manages to circle out of the way. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kent Baird dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hullaby looks for a takedown but Baird sprawls well. Baird closes the distance and clinches. Hullaby has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Baird avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hullaby is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hullaby tries to pull guard but Baird forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Kent Baird has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tykivas Hullaby. Baird has clasped his hands together around Hullaby's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hullaby is looking to get back to his feet here but Baird is keeping cool and he's managed to take Hullaby's back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baird has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hullaby's body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baird is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Hullaby taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Baird.
