Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Hendricks (ranked 8135 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Edward (ranked 5919 p4p, 515 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Hendricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Edward !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendricks clinches with his opponent.
Hendricks is trying to break free.

Hendricks gets control of Edward 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hendricks will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Edward trying to control but Hendricks is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edward won't allow Hendricks to sweep him here.
Edward pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hendricks is keeping the position for now.
Hendricks keeping moving, preventing Edward from controlling successfully.
Hendricks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edward 's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hendricks postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Edward is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hendricks, into his guard.


Hendricks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Edward defends well.

Edward stays in close to Hendricks's body and controls the position.
Edward trying to control but Hendricks is working from the bottom.
Edward passes Hendricks's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hendricks is looking for a sweep. Edward is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Edward stops Hendricks from getting back to his feet.

Hendricks is defending against the submission attempts here by Edward .
Hendricks keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Edward wants to free his trapped foot but Hendricks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hendricks is staying active underneath Edward , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nate Edward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hendricks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hendricks is looking to escape.

Edward looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A close round but Nate Edward will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Edward dives in and grabs Hendricks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hendricks pushes down on Edward 's head and hops out.
Hendricks was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Edward tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hendricks throwing a counter right hand but Edward manages to avoid it.

Hendricks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Edward .
A quick step to the side and Hendricks tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Edward gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hendricks counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hendricks.

Hendricks jumps guard and drags Edward to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Edward decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Edward throws a sloppy head kick
and Hendricks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nate Edward is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Edward throws a series of punches but Hendricks avoids them all with ease.
An attempted straight right counter from Hendricks misses the target.

Hendricks has managed to clinch.
Edward misses with a hook to the ribs.
Edward tries for a takedown. No joy.
Antonio Hendricks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Edward .

Hendricks has picked Edward up - he's going for a ride! Hendricks dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hendricks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hendricks is thwarting Edward 's attempts to control the position.
Hendricks is trying to control the action in half guard but Edward is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hendricks decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hendricks moves in looking to clinch but Edward pushes him off.
Hendricks is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Edward can do to turn this around?
Edward swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hendricks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Edward paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hendricks misses with the combination.

Hendricks dives in and scores a takedown into Edward 's guard.

Edward manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Hendricks takes the fight into the clinch.
Hendricks makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hendricks manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hendricks wants to control the position but Edward says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Edward thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hendricks's head.
Edward seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hendricks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hendricks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edward swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Edward misses with the combination.

and Hendricks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Edward throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hendricks works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Edward wants to control from the top but Hendricks keeps moving.
Edward is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hendricks tries to clinch up but Edward circles away and keeps his distance.
Hendricks wants to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Edward pulls guard effortlessly.
Edward keeping moving, preventing Hendricks from controlling successfully.
Hendricks throws a big elbow that misses.
Hendricks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Edward is trying to keep Hendricks in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nate Edward .
I think Edward has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
