The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cervoni darts in and clinches Da Souza up against the cage.
Da Souza has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cervoni is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Da Souza tries to pull guard but Cervoni won't allow it.

Da Souza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Da Souza is trying to trip Cervoni. He has hold of a leg but Cervoni is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Da Souza persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Da Souza postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cervoni can't keep his opponent in guard - Da Souza advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Da Souza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cervoni is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cervoni has momentary wrist control but Da Souza slips an elbow through the middle.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Da Souza, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
