Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Sanchez (ranked 4503 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Rowler (ranked 7520 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roberto Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Rowler! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez throws a series of punches but Rowler moves out of range. Rowler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage. Rowler goes for a takedown attempt but Sanchez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sanchez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rowler's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sanchez not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rowler wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rowler is not content to let Sanchez control the position. Sanchez stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rowler slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sanchez lands a couple of elbows. Sanchez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rowler is controlling Sanchez's posture. Rowler trying to control the position.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sanchez forces his way into half guard. Sanchez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rowler's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowler is staying active underneath Sanchez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Rowler tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sanchez has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Rowler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sanchez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rowler has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Rowler is desperately trying to improve his position but Sanchez has a good base and remains in mount. Sanchez putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rowler keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rowler keeps trying to improve his position. Rowler wants to control but Sanchez is having none of it. Rowler blocking the ground and pound. Rowler is trying desperately to improve position. Sanchez landing shots from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sanchez is in the full mount, landing strikes. Sanchez working away from the top, dropping strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roberto Sanchez dominated that round. That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sanchez clinches up against the cage. Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rowler can do to turn this around? A frustrated look appears on Sanchez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rowler goes for a takedown attempt but Sanchez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Roberto Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sanchez drives through with a takedown into Rowler's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sanchez advances to half guard. Rowler looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rowler is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rowler makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rowler.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rowler keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. Sanchez controls from within his opponent's guard. Rowler pulls Sanchez in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rowler controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rowler is on top in guard.
Rowler postures up.
Rowler trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. Sanchez pushes a forearm under Rowler's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Rowler is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roberto Sanchez!
