Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Olin Poole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harold Aipperspach! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aipperspach closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Poole is trying to control but can't.
Aipperspach is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Poole is looking to control Aipperspach's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Poole avoid being mounted? Poole is looking for a sweep. Aipperspach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Poole wants to control but Aipperspach is keeping busy.
Aipperspach working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Poole has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aipperspach is working away from the top position though. Aipperspach is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poole on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Poole is rocked! Ground and pound from Aipperspach. Oh Poole is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Aipperspach is looking for a kimura but Poole is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aipperspach to get the leverage. Aipperspach perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Poole is looking to control Aipperspach's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Poole avoid being mounted? Aipperspach is looking to advance position but Poole won't allow it. Aipperspach lands strikes from half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Aipperspach is controlling the pace.
Aipperspach drops an elbow to the side of Poole's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poole wants to get back to full guard. Aipperspach lands a big elbow - Poole is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Aipperspach!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harold Aipperspach!
