Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Holmes Jr (ranked 2343 p4p, 245 weight class) and Markus Hambucher (ranked 2419 p4p, 254 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes Jr moves out of range of the strikes.
It looked like Holmes Jr wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Holmes Jr avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Holmes Jr lands a really nice looking cross but Hambucher seems unphased.
It looks like Markus Hambucher has been cut.
Hambucher's coach down at Stark Combat Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hambucher's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Holmes Jr throws a nice inside leg kick.
Holmes Jr takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hambucher lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Holmes Jr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hambuchers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hambucher misses with a hook
and Holmes Jr makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Hambucher throws a hook to the side of Holmes Jr's head but Holmes Jr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A quick step to the side and Holmes Jr tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Markus Hambucher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hambucher lands the left hand.

and Holmes Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Hambucher might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hambucher connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Holmes Jr out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Markus Hambucher decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
