Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Snowdon (ranked 1133 p4p, 150 weight class) and Finn Calvero (ranked 1243 p4p, 161 weight class). Calvero is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I'm a Gnome. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Snowdon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Finn Calvero! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Snowdon. Calvero does a little dance to reset his feet. Calvero steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Snowdon. Snowdon just misses with a punch to the body.
Snowdon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Snowdon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Calvero rushes Snowdon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Snowdon lands a hook that snaps the head of Calvero backwards. Calvero misses with a punch on the inside.

Snowdon is working for takedown but Calvero is calmly controlling the position for now. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Snowdon. A head punch on the inside from Calvero fails to land. Calvero softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Calvero misses with a hook from the clinch. Snowdon struggles to land a body shot inside as Calvero controls his hands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snowdon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Calvero throws a punch but it's blocked by Snowdon. Calvero lands a right hand that snaps the head of Snowdon backwards. Snowdon scores with a nice hook to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Snowdon misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Snowdon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Calvero is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Snowdon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Snowdon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Calvero gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Snowdon jumps guard.
Calvero would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Calvero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Snowdon trying to control the position.
Calvero wants to stand but Snowdon is controlling his posture from full guard. Snowdon is trying to keep Calvero in close.
Snowdon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Calvero is one step ahead there. Calvero trying to stand up but can't free himself from Snowdon's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Snowdon has his foot on Calvero's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Calvero works his way back into a safe position though. Calvero has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Snowdon to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Calvero is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Snowdon pulls down on the head and he's put Calvero to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). William Snowdon! William Snowdon retains his welterweight title!
