Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Olof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olof comes to the cage accompanied by I am a poor lonesome cowboy. Anderson Mir has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John Olof! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Mir! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olof will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Olof tries to clinch but Mir moves out of range. Olof tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mir paws at him with a jab and circles away. Olof wants to clinch up but Mir keeps it at a distance. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Olof pulls guard successfully.

Mir is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mir looking to throw knees to the head but Olof is blocking nicely.
Olof jumps guard and drags Mir to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Olof holds on and takes a little breather. Mir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mir stopping the sweep attempt from Olof.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mir has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Olof is proving hard to escape from. Mir slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Olof. Mir seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Mir wants to stand up but Olof manages to regain full guard. Olof is looking for a triangle but Mir pushes his legs off easily.

Olof wants to clinch but Mir slips to the side and Mir holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mir throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Olof blocks it with crossed arms. Olof wants to break the clinch but can't.

Olof has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mir down to the mat. Mir avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Olof clinches but Mir breaks the clinch and Mir counters by clinching up. Olof is trying to break the clinch but Mir has him pressed against the cage. Mir tries to land a knee to the head but Olof blocks with his arms.

Mir is looking to stand up but Olof won't let him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir wants to stand and escape but instead Olof has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Olof scoring with some ground and pound. Mir wants to get back to his feet but Olof is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mir looks gassed! Olof stands up and waves to Mir to follow him. Olof misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Olof dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Olof manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Olof tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mir would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mir is breathing heavily. Olof is trying to keep Mir in close.

Olof gets a trip takedown into half guard. Olof winds up and cracks Mir with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mir is refusing to be controlled, as Olof sits in half guard. Olof moves nicely into side control. Mir takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Olof trying to control the position but Mir is working away. Olof lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Olof with a couple of short strikes. BOOM! Olof connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Olof moves into the clinch. Mir takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Olof's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Olof pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Olof wants to clinch and Mir counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Olof drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mir pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Olof turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Mir taking a bit of punishment here - Olof scoring with strikes. Mir seems a little lost for a moment, as Olof dominates the positioning. Mir wants to get back to his feet but Olof drags him back down. Olof looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mir wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Olof lands a nice forearm strike. Mir pushes Olof away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Olof gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Olof lands a few punches from side control. Olof controls the position. John Olof is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The referee asks Olof politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Olof prefers to stall for the moment though. Olof decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mir to his feet. Mir keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that's the end of the fight! John Olof showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Olof, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
