Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Tims (ranked 21796 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Franks (ranked 8797 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franks misses with a straight right.
Tims walks into a stiff left hand from Franks.
Tims bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Franks cracks Tims with a good jab.
Franks stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Franks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tims manages to avoid it.
Tims swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Tims ducks under a wild hook from Franks.
Tims half committed to a counter leg kick.
Tims ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Franks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tims was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Franks looks to throw the jab but Tims is out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mark Franks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tims moves out of range of the strikes.

Tims moves forwards but Franks connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Franks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tims.
Franks throws out a loose jab but Tims uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Franks, as that shot connected.

Tims was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Franks connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Franks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Franks should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tims avoids the body shot from Franks.
Tims appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Franks throws a hook to the side of Tims's head but Tims sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tims takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Franks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tims sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tims feinted there with a counter leg kick.

The fighters circling - Franks throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Oh Tims is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Franks cracks Tims with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Tims falls to his knees and Franks doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Franks!
