Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Puller (ranked 1519 p4p, 181 weight class) and Kalle Svensson (ranked 1861 p4p, 230 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Puller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kalle Svensson! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.

Svensson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Svensson tries to move to full mount but Puller actually manages to regain half guard. Puller wants to improve his position but Svensson is controlling well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Puller keeping full guard, as Svensson tries to pass. Svensson trying to move into half guard but instead Puller has managed to sweep!
Svensson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Puller has passed into side control.
Svensson tries to bench press Puller off him but Puller keeps the position. Puller controlling from side mount. Svensson is trying to work for a sweep but Puller has mounted him!

Puller prevents Svensson from improving his position. Svensson has a hand on Puller's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Puller takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Svensson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Puller haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Puller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Svensson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Puller controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Puller will probably get the nod. That's time! Puller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Puller scores with a kick to the midsection. Svensson misses with a takedown attempt and Puller makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Svensson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Svensson throws a nice looking combination but Puller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A combination from Svensson does no damage. Svensson throws a head kick but Puller moves out of range.
Puller fires out a quick counter leg kick but Svensson just manages to avoid it. Puller looks to land a left hand but Svensson moved out of range nicely. Svensson shapes to counter with a head kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Svensson lands a jab to Puller's midsection. Svensson tries a head kick but it misses.
Svensson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Puller swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kalle Svensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Puller looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. John Puller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Svensson misses with a kick to the body and Puller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Svensson moves out of range of the strikes. Svensson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Puller with a body shot. Svensson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Svensson punishes Puller's body with a nice straight punch. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Svensson - that will leave a mark!
Svensson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Svensson working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Puller's thigh. Puller counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Svensson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Puller is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Svensson, into his guard.
Puller stopping the sweep attempt from Svensson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Svensson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Svensson trying to control the position.

Puller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Svensson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Puller has managed to get both his arms back between Svensson's legs - danger averted. Svensson is adopting a defensive guard.

Puller passes Svensson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Puller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Svensson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Puller is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Svensson is pulling down on Puller's head. It's preventing any offense from Puller, at least for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puller postures up.
Svensson wants to control the position but Puller says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Puller trying to mount his opponent but Svensson defends it. Puller perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Svensson throws a right and a left that both miss. A quick step to the side and Puller tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Puller scoring well with a low kick there.
Svensson misses with a hook. Puller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Svensson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Svensson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Svensson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Puller knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that's the end of the fight! Kalle Svensson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Svensson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by split decision... Kalle Svensson! After the fight, Kalle Svensson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
