Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dick Jawbreak (ranked 6945 p4p, 571 weight class) and Tuco Cortez (ranked 5265 p4p, 477 weight class). Jawbreak's entrance music is Jawbreaker - by NK (Rukkus). A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cortez's choice of entrance music: Freestyle - The Party Has Begun. Tuco Cortez acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dick Jawbreak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuco Cortez!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez misses with a few strikes there.
Cortez throws a leg kick which misses Jawbreak's front leg but catches the back leg as Jawbreak tries to avoid it.
Cortez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jawbreak gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cortez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jawbreak doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cortez counters by moving into the clinch.
Cortez lands a knee to the body.
Cortez jumps guard and drags Jawbreak to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jawbreak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cortez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cortez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cortez has Jawbreak pulled in close to control his posture.
Jawbreak wants to pass the guard but Cortez is keeping the position.
Jawbreak drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cortez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jawbreak has Cortez in his guard.

We've been informed that Cortez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

That's time! Jawbreak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cortez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jawbreak goes for a double leg but Cortez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cortez continues to drive forward.
Cortez tries to counter with a clinch but Jawbreak shakes him off and moves away.
Jawbreak darts in looking for a takedown but Cortez gets double underhooks and turns Jawbreak into the cage.
Cortez throws a nice looking combination but Jawbreak bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cortez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jawbreak.
Dick Jawbreak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez slaps away a takedown attempt from Jawbreak, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Jawbreak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cortez swings for the body but Jawbreak moves out of range.
Jawbreak closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cortez to the mat! Cortez manages to get full guard.
Cortez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jawbreak prevents Cortez from getting back to his feet.
Jawbreak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jawbreak throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cortez escapes and throws Jawbreak's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Cortez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jawbreak tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cortez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jawbreak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Cortez decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jawbreak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cortez avoids it really well and circles away.

Cortez lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jawbreak's sensitive parts.
Cortez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jawbreak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jawbreak manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cortez on his heels. He'll look to pass Cortez's guard now, I'm sure.
Cortez is looking to stand up but Jawbreak isn't so interested in that idea.
Cortez wants to sweep but no luck.
Jawbreak drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cortez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jawbreak has Cortez in his guard.
Jawbreak seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Cortez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cortez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jawbreak has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Cortez. Oh but Jawbreak has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Cortez goes limp - he's gone! Jawbreak jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Dick Jawbreak decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
