Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pedro Fowler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joseph Brown!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown rushes Fowler and presses him up against the cage.
Fowler really is a fat lump.

Fowler turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Fowler manages to end up in side control.
Fowler wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy.

Brown struggling a bit here.

Fowler swings around for an armbar but Brown sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Fowler's guard.

Fowler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brown manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brown stands up from Fowler's guard - Brown perhaps looking for a knockout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fowler enables Brown to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fowler manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Fowler working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Brown has passed into half guard!

Fowler has one foot on Brown's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Brown is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fowler's half guard.
Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fowler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Fowler is trying to control but Brown passes into side control!
Fowler is looking for a sweep.

Brown stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fowler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fowler tries for a takedown but Brown sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fowler is breathing heavily.
Brown tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fowler was well out of range. Poor timing from Brown.
Fowler stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
Fowler throws a counter high kick but Brown was just alert enough to avoid it.

letting Brown counter with a right hand.


It looks like Pedro Fowler has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fowler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Fowler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fowler takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brown, right into the meat.

Brown rushes Fowler and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Brown successfully pulls guard.

Fowler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Fowler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brown wants to sweep here but Fowler controlling him for the moment.
Brown manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fowler manages to get himself to full guard.

Fowler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fowler looking for a guillotine here but Brown defends easily.

Brown passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Brown is working Fowler over with some ground and pound from side control.
Brown lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Brown wants to control but Fowler is keeping him busy.

Brown decides to stand back up.

Brown lands a left and a right that send Fowler crashing to the mat, dazed. Brown thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Fowler is rocked!
Joseph Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brown shoots and scores a devastating slam takedown! Fowler is unconscious as Brown celebrates over his stricken foe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Joseph Brown!
