Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tumleh Schmitt (ranked 2790 p4p, 314 weight class) and Borys Hund (ranked 2575 p4p, 292 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Tumleh Schmitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borys Hund!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hund closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Schmitt manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Hund fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Schmitt wants to land a leg kick but Hund is out of range.
Schmitt stuffs the takedown attempt from Hund. Hund gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hund.
Tumleh Schmitt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borys Hund.
Hund will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Schmitt slaps away a takedown attempt from Hund, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Schmitt stuffs the takedown.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice takedown defense from Schmitt. No joy for Hund on that attempt.
Schmitt half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Schmitt has been working on his boxing with his coaches at London MMA Club in the buildup to the fight.

Schmitt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hund quickly recovers to half guard.

Hund manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Hund shoots in for a takedown but Schmitt shows good takedown defense.
Schmitt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hund circles away quickly and effectively.
Schmitt fails with a takedown attempt.
Hund doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hund looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schmitt is fending him off so far but Hund persists. Nope, Schmitt circles away and we're back to standing.
Hund doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Schmitt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hund's guard.
Schmitt makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hund preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Schmitt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hund has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schmitt has managed to get both his arms back between Hund's legs - danger averted.

Schmitt wants to control from the top but Hund keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schmitt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hund works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hund is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hund looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Schmitt wants to pass the guard but Hund is keeping the position.
Schmitt wants to control from the top but Hund keeps moving.

Hund is working an open guard so Schmitt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Schmitt fails with a takedown attempt.

Schmitt shoots in and gets a takedown into Hund's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hund looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hund has his foot on Schmitt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schmitt works his way back into a safe position though.

Schmitt wants to control from the top but Hund keeps moving.
Hund preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Hund working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schmitt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hund is tightening it up a little... Schmitt has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Schmitt reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Schmitt taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hund!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Borys Hund!
