Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chongyang Lu (ranked 3746 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choong Il Lee (ranked 8341 p4p, 0 weight class). Choong Il Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chongyang Lu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Choong Il Lee! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A kick lands to the mid section there for Lu. Lee looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Lee closes the distance looking to clinch and Lu counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that. Lu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lu looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lu controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lu wants to stand but Lee has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lee on his heels. He'll look to pass Lee's guard now, I'm sure. Lu wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lu wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Lu throwing strikes but missing. Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lu controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lu wants to get up but he can't break Lee's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lu drives through with a takedown into guard. Lu is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lu looking to pass the guard. Lu is stalling in the full guard. Lu content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lee has a closed guard, preventing Lu from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chongyang Lu dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lu gets slowly back to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Lu. Lu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around? Lu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lu tries to advance to mount but Lee denies him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lu just content to control the position. Chongyang Lu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lee for as long as he can get away with. Lu wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Lee's face as Lu controls the position. Lee avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Lu tries to stand but Lee is controlling his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lee knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lee has managed to free his arm - good work. Lu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lee is just riding it out for now. Lu eventually gives up the hold. Lu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chongyang Lu dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Lu closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard. Lu is taking a breather. Lee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lee has hold of Lu's hands but Lu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Lu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. Lu tries to stand and escape but Lee is controlling the position. Well, if Lu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lee was covering up waiting for the punch and Lu finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lu's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lu's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lu showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard. Lu stands up from Lee's guard - Lu perhaps looking for a knockout. Lu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A lull in the action here. Choong Il Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chongyang Lu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Chongyang Lu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
