Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Wilkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Hiller!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hiller tries to counter with a clinch but Wilkinson shakes him off and moves away.
Hiller dives in and grabs Wilkinson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wilkinson pushes down on Hiller's head and hops out.
Timothy Wilkinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hiller changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wilkinson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hiller throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Wilkinson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Hiller stalling away here and it's allowed Wilkinson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hiller throws a strike but Wilkinson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hiller's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Well, with Hiller on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Wilkinson is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Hiller is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Hiller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wilkinson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hiller might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wilkinson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round but I would say that Timothy Wilkinson will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hiller wants to clinch up but Wilkinson keeps it at a distance.
Hiller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilkinson's waist but Wilkinson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hiller off to one side.
Hiller with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wilkinson to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Erik Hiller has been cut.

Hiller has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wilkinson after a bit of a struggle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hiller has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wilkinson uses from the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hiller shoots in looking for a takedown but Wilkinson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hiller's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hiller creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hiller has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wilkinson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

No joy there for Wilkinson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hiller has a takedown stuffed.
Wilkinson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Wilkinson moves into range and connects with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Wilkinson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
