Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Cook (ranked 1616 p4p, 201 weight class) and Taran Chula (ranked 1612 p4p, 200 weight class). Cook comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Baby - Southside. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Cook! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Taran Chula! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook tries to bum rush Chula with a series of wild strikes but Chula uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A little jabbing left from Chula on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Chula looks to score with a jab to the body but Cook is just out of range. Chula throws a body shot but no joy. Cook lands a right hook to the body.
Chula throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Chula's coach down at Crassus was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chula's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Cook throws the left hand but Chula avoids the punch easily. Chula throws a right hand that Cook ducks under and follows up with a left that Cook also avoids with ease. A combination from Cook does no damage. Cook jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cook cracks Chula with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Cook has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight. A shot to the liver by Chula. Beautiful body shot. A low kick from Cook misses and Chula counters with a body kick that stops Cook in his tracks momentarily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chula digs a good body shot into Cook's ribs. Chula slips a straight right by Cook. Bob Cook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cook swinging wildly here.

and Cook takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Chula uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cook. Chula tries to score with a low kick but Cook moves his leg out of the way. Cook pushes Chula away with a front kick. Cook lands with a hook. Chula tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Chula takes a swing at Cook's ribcage but misses. Chula throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chula connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Cook tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chula was well out of range. Poor timing from Cook. Chula throws out a counter right but Cook avoids it with no problem. Chula drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Chula works the jab nicely. Chula stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cook takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Chula is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cook rather than just go for the knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook takes a shot right to the bread basket. Chula takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cook avoids the body shot from Chula.
Chula with a body punch. A glancing blow. Chula uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cook. Nice defenses there by Chula. Cook throws the left hand but Chula avoids the punch easily. Chula scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Chula throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

It looks like Taran Chula has been cut. Cook keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Cook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cook is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Chula. Cook tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Chula darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Cook swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Chula uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cook.
Cook works Chula's body with a nice hook. Cook paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Chula fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cook manages to avoid it. Chula ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cook moves away. Cook connects with the punch. Chula takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Cook connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chula's hands. Chula with a hook. Cook tries to clinch there but Chula circles away.
Chula throws a counter combo. Cook misses with a shot to the body and Chula counters with a straight right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chula misses with a straight left. Cook wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cook goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Chula has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Chula there as he acknowledges the shot. Cook loads up on a big right hand but Chula slips the punch. Cook rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chula moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Chula looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Chula just misses with a punch to the body.
Chula pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Cook was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Cook throws a body shot but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cook motions for Chula to come forward. Cook throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Cook's corner calls for a 1-2. Cook obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Cook swings and misses with a shot to the body and Chula counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cook takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bob Cook will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Taran Chula's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cook scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Cook gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chula throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Chula misses the shot to the body. Chula ducks under a wild hook from Cook. Chula now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Cook throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cook tries to clinch but Chula moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Chula. Cook does a little dance to reset his feet. Cook moves in looking to clinch but Chula pushes him off. Chula misses with a body shot.
Chula throws a body kick that misses. An inside leg kick lands from Cook. Cook throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cook throws a leg kick letting Chula counter with a right hand. Chula slips under a jab. Nice jab there from Cook. Chula throws a lazy right hand but Cook sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crunch! Chula slams his shin into Cook's torso. Cook takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A jab from Cook does it's job there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chula takes a swing at Cook's ribcage but misses. Cook walks into a stiff left hand from Chula. Cook closes the distance looking to clinch and Chula counters with a left to the body. Chula lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cook at a distance.
Cook throws a combination that misses and Chula counters with a series of strikes. Cook will be more careful next time no doubt. Cook with a nice cross. Chula goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. The crowd cheers as Chula lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cook doesn't seem phased though. Cook misses with a series of wild punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chula works the jab nicely. Cook clinches with his opponent.
Cook pushes Chula back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Chula pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A jab from Cook finds it's way through Chula's defenses. Chula keeps the fight on the outside. Chula doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Chula has managed to clinch.

Cook uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chula. Chula drops his hands momentarily and Cook takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Cook waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chula. A chopping leg kick lands by Cook. Cook swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cook is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Some wild striking there from Chula.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cook bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Cook misses with a straight left. A combination from Chula does no damage. It looked like Cook wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chula takes a swing at Cook's ribcage but misses. Cook ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cook misses with a right hand and Chula counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Cook tries to clinch there but Chula circles away.

Taran Chula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Taran Chula's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Cook fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chula, pushing him back against the cage. Chula is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Chula slowing the pace effectively. Chula tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Chula has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Cook lands a hook to the side of the head. Chula lands a body punch. Chula scores with a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cook's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Chula takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Chula slowing the pace effectively. Chula pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Chula connects with the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chula scores with a sloppy right hand. Cook should have avoided that one. Chula just misses with a punch to the body.

Cook moves in looking to clinch but Chula pushes him off. Cook throws a hook but Chula blocks it. Cook slips a jab from Chula. Jab, jab by Chula - just one landing. Chula just misses with a punch to the body.
Cook swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A cross from Cook lands. Chula throws the left hand but Cook avoids the punch easily. Cook throws a chopping leg kick but Chula manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Cook misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chula connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Chula steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cook. Cook tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Chula is able to avoid easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Cook looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A nice side step and Chula releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Cook misses with a shot to the body and Chula counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chula fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cook looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Both fighters are breathing heavily. An inside leg kick from Cook misses. A punch combination from Cook misses. Cook throws a body punch but Chula moves out of range. A combination from Chula does no damage. A punch lands to the side of Cook 's head but he takes it in his stride. Chula loads up on a big right hand but Cook slips the punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook misses with a wild body shot. Chula swats away the attempt to clinch by Cook. Nice defenses there by Cook. It looked like Cook wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Chula throws a body shot but no joy. Cook lunges at Chula with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chula's hand. Chula fails to land with a series of punches.
Good exchange - Cook coming out on top. Cook cracks Chula with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Chula walks into a left hand. Cook scores with a body shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A telegraphed right hand from Cook misses the target. Chula throws a body shot but no joy. Chula tries to land a front kick but Cook steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cook throws a jab but it's blocked by Chula. Chula now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Cook connects with a jab. Taran Chula seems to be getting the better of the standup. Chula with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Cook lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chula takes a step back to recover. Cook drives through and clinches with Chula against the cage.
Chula lands on the inside with an uppercut. Chula's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cook scores with a jab. Chula acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Taran Chula. I think Chula has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
