ORC Submission Grappling 6 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 3408 p4p, 348 weight class) and Fahad Al Qarni (ranked 1338 p4p, 149 weight class). Al Qarni is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hells Bells. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 12 losses; Aloysius Martin Thesz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 7 losses; Fahad Al Qarni!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Thesz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Al Qarni tries to avoid it but Thesz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Al Qarni to the ground. Al Qarni escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thesz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Al Qarni sprawls well. Al Qarni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thesz gets slowly back to his feet.

Al Qarni felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Al Qarni drops back looking for a leg! Thesz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thesz manages to kick Al Qarni off! Al Qarni jumps back into Thesz's guard.
