Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Lee (ranked 4740 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Sochek (ranked 5429 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee's entrance music is Guess who’s back - Rakim. A fine choice. Matthew Sochek will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matthew Sochek! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sochek as he jumps to the side. Lee dodges the punch combination from Sochek.
Sochek closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Kevin Lee has been cut. Sochek misses with a combination
and Lee counters with a takedown into side control. Sochek wants to get back to his feet but Lee drags him back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sochek seems a little lost for a moment, as Lee dominates the positioning. Lee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sochek for as long as he can get away with. Sochek is trying to buck Lee off. A lull in the action here as Lee stalls from top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sochek feints a jab promting Lee to slip. Sochek then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lee slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sochek with a nice cross. Sochek tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sochek lands a jab. Sochek misses with a double jab
and Lee counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee prevents Sochek from standing back up.
Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Lee wants to pass to mount but Sochek is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Nice strikes from Lee there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee is taking a breather. Sochek says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lee trying to mount his opponent but Sochek defends it. Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee decides to stand up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lee wants to clinch up but Sochek keeps it at a distance. Sochek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Matthew Sochek will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kevin Lee's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sochek lands with a nice combination. Lee backs away looking to recover. No luck for Lee with that takedown attempt. A jab from Sochek does it's job there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sochek throws a series of punches but Lee avoids them all with ease. Sochek lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lee at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sochek defends it nicely. A nice side step and Sochek releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sochek defends well and Lee ends up having to push Sochek into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sochek is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. A punch combination from Sochek misses. A combination from Sochek does no damage. Sochek misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sochek defends well and Lee ends up having to push Sochek into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sochek lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sochek sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat. Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sochek counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sloppy strikes from Sochek. Those never looked like landing. Lee moves into the clinch successfully.
Sochek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sochek misses with a few strikes there.
Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kevin Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sochek.
Lee is looking to clinch. Sochek falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lee counters with a nice double leg into guard. Sochek pushes Lee off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kevin Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Sochek.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Sochek, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Sochek against the cage but Sochek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sochek looks to land a combination but Lee avoids it well. Sochek throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A combination from Sochek does no damage. Matthew Sochek is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sochek slaps away a takedown attempt from Lee, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sochek lands a nice hook to Lee's body. Lee takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee tried to score with a low kick but Sochek checks it. Sochek circles away from the clinch attempt and Sochek counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

As Sochek looks to move away, Lee throws a big counter combo but Sochek just gets out of the way. We've been informed that Sochek has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lee tries to clinch up and Sochek cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sochek throws a right hand that Lee ducks under and follows up with a left that Lee also avoids with ease. Lee tries for a takedown but Sochek sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sochek slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A cross from Sochek lands. Sochek misses with the combination.

Lee is rocked! Sochek batters Lee with a massive right followed by a huge left! Lee is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Sochek lands a final crushing right hand to drop Lee to the mat with a gruesome thud! Sochek is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Matthew Sochek! In defeat, Kevin Lee stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well damn '.
