Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Army (ranked 768 p4p, 97 weight class) and Eric Staal (ranked 475 p4p, 56 weight class). Army comes to the cage accompanied by Dick Army. On his way into the cage it seems that Dick Army has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dick Army seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
35 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dick Army! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Eric Staal! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Staal finds it's way through Army's defenses.
It looks like Dick Army has been cut. Staal circles away from the clinch attempt.
Staal looks to land a left hand but Army moved out of range nicely. Army misses with a low kick as Staal jumps back. Staal let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Staal misses with a body shot
and Army counters with a lovely straight right hand! Staal lands a right hook to the body.

Staal throws a quick inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Army takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Staal throws a leg kick but Army sees it coming and moves out of range. An attempted straight right counter from Army misses the target. Staal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Staal drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Army defends it well. Army scores with a decent looking hook. This has been an exciting period of action! Staal swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Army misses with a left hand and Staal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Army walks into a jab. Staal lands a front kick. Army takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Army throws a leg kick and Staal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Army tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Staal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Staal misses with a hook. Army ducked under it nicely. Staal throws a leg kick that is checked and Army makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Army keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Staal. A counter left hand to the body from Army misses its target. Nice straight punches there by Army. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Army. A low kick from Staal is predictable there and Army connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Army avoids a low kick by using good footwork. An attempted straight right counter from Army misses the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Army preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Army is looking to stand up but Staal isn't so interested in that idea. Army working a defensive guard but Staal manages to pass into side control anyway.
Staal takes a little break here. Army wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Staal connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Army some visible discomfort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Staal throws an elbow but Army slips to the side and avoids it well. Staal with the ground and pound but Army regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Staal with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Staal is just content to waste time from the top position. Army takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Staal trying to control the position from guard on top but Army is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Staal throws a big right hand that misses. Staal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Army keeping moving, preventing Staal from controlling successfully. Army tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Staal was well out of range. Poor timing from Army. Staal looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Army misses with a head kick.
Army throws a sloppy head kick and Staal moves out of range easily. Staal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Army takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Army bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Staal's guard. Staal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Staal is on top in guard.
Staal makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Staal engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Staal is in close to Army's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Staal postures up in Army's guard and throws a big left but Army blocks it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Staal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A nice leg kick lands there from Army. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Staal. Staal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Staal scores with a slapping inside leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Staal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dick Army's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Staal lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Army has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Army and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Army throws a head kick that misses and Staal counters with a stiff right hand. Staal connects with a looping right hand.
Staal uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Army. Staal looks for the body kick but Army saw that one coming. Army is looking to counter with a body kick. Eric Staal seems to be getting the better of the standup. Army fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Staal is out of range. Army walks into a left hand. Army takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Staal lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Army backs up against the cage.

and Staal counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Army has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
